How Our Clothes Are Made

Organic Cotton

We print our designs to the highest possible environmental standard on 100% organic cotton t-shirts certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS).

Why organic cotton?

Organic cotton comes from seeds that have not been genetically modified and is grown without the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides or insecticides.

Organic cotton farming uses natural methods such as crop rotation, companion planting and beneficial insects which create a positive effect not only on the soil, water, and biodiversity, but also benefits the health and livelihoods of farmers and their communities.

Compared to conventionally-grown cotton, organic cotton uses less energy, releases fewer greenhouse gases, does not contaminate groundwater and uses significantly less water.

Our organic t-shirts are manufactured in Fair Wear accredited factories which ensure the rights of employees to a safe and healthy work environment. Fair Wear accreditation guarantees:

  • Payment of living wage
  • A legally binding contract
  • Reasonable hours of work
  • No discrimination in employment
  • No child labour
  • No use of forced labour
  • Freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining

Made To Order

Bad Hass Designs operates on a print on demand model, meaning that we only print a garment after a customer orders it.

Print on demand is much more sustainable than traditional shopping chains because it avoids overproduction and prevents excess inventory from being thrown out or destroyed.

In the rare event that a garment is mis-printed, it will be donated to charity.

Environmentally-Friendly Printing

Our t-shirt designs are printed with OEKO-TEX® approved water-based inks. These inks are non-toxic, vegan, and don't contain any regulated or unregulated chemicals that are harmful to the environment.

Plastic-Free Packaging

Our garments are shipped to you in plastic-free paper mailing bags which are manufactured from responsible, sustainable sources to comply with FSC certification.

The paper is both compostable and bio-degradable, and paper mailers can be easily recycled, making this an extremely eco-friendly option.
